As always, an excellent product, very user friendly yet efficient. My only problem is that my old MacBook Pro has several failures. In the future, I will use my (latest gen) iPad Air. I’m interested in learning about the products that will be available for next year’s tax season.

The user interface feels outdated. Every time I run the application, it warns me that my screen resolution is too low. It could use a major overhaul. Also, it is disappointing that it does not allow e-filing of Massachusetts state tax returns.

I purchased this State & Federal Tax software. It is very update & thorough. I am pleased with the results.
However, there is only one thing I would like to share. It is the final review step before wrapping up & submitting the returns by eFiling. It took me quite a while to solve & correct the issues.
I finally got them resolved & submitted. Once submitted, it only took a day for the IRS & two days for the State to accept my returns. It's pretty efficient.

I still call it Tax Cut -- the name of the program before H&R Block bought it. It has always been straightforward to use, and reliable. For me it's the only choice for dealing with tax season.
My taxes are normally very simple, but in the 2024 tax year I did some unusual things, affecting my Federal and state tax returns considerably. Tax Cut dealt with it all.
The UI is getting a bit dated, and the accuracy review gets confused by odd things (like the fact I'm over 65, but not yet collecting social security, which gets flagged as a data entry error in the 1040!), but it gets the job done capably.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

One problem was with mutual fund foreign taxes paid - software tried to force an IRS tax form that was not needed.
I had to research the IRS website for a while to find that I could delete the form.

A friend used Turbo Tax, while I’ve been using H&R. He passed, and I helped his wife with taxes using TT. It was clunky, and not as intuitive and expedient as H&R.
