Great, except for the 1099-INT vs 1099-OID

The 1099-INT was the only weak spot this year. If you had both regular interest as well as OID interest, you could not enter both types of interest by toggling between them without losing the information for the other one you already entered. As a result, I had to re-enter the information for the 1099-OID in a separate entry. You should modify the logic in the program so that you if you have both types of interest, you should not have to create a whole separate entry (including the broker's name and account number) before entering in the second type of interest.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I've used H&R Block tax software for longer than I can remember--never a single issue, year after year. Automatic passing of last year's data to this year's return saves a lot of work. I would say every now and then I would like just a bit more help or info, but that is seldom. I'll use it again next year for sure......very happy with it.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Some issues

There were two issues with this software on the Mac.
1. Unable to close the program without force quitting. I called about this and the rep said "it was a known issue"!
2. When trying to import financial information from brokerages the program crashed.

Mathematical error in software

Found an error in the state tax software. Confirmed W2 information was entered correctly but when the software carried it over to the state return it added $1000 to the amount of taxes paid. State department of revenue found the error and corrected it. Even went back and completed the state return with separate software and confirm the HR Block software was wrong.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was able to file after my typing mistakes were corrected.. It only took me two hours to do,but another two hours to correct my mistakes.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Not as good as previous years

Did not import as much info as in previous years. Also did not enter last years adjusted gross income for IRS identification. It would not allow me to override the
0 entry, so e-file was rejected and I had to paper file. No explanation or reason given.
