Too many forms directly on IRS forms

This year it required me to enter too much info directly on the IRS forms, and the guidance was lacking/unclear, for example on form 1116 foreign tax. Seems to me that the development of the software was rushed after tax reform.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have been using Block's software for 6 years now. We have tried the other tax software out there and always had issues with filing or glitches in the software. Not to mention the refunds did not compare with what we get from Block. This year we received the highest refund ever! You get the best value for the money along with the best support and legal representation in the business should you encounter an audit. Stick with the best-I guarantee you won't regret it!

Great Improvements

This years software fixed some of the issues in the past. You really upped the intuitive features and foxed the areas where the software just left you hanging on certain interviews. Very nice!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I bought this not knowing what I was getting in to. I was very surprised at how easy it was with the step by step instructions. Did my state and federal returns in less than an hour. Great product!

Struggle to install state and updates.

I've used this product to file my taxes for years. This year the state file would not down load. I had to purchase state again. It took me 6 try's to get the required update to install. Charged me state filling fee 3 times. Very frustrated with this product this year. Probably the last time I'll use it.

We ran into several problems this year where the interview ended up NOT creating the correct results. We found at least 4 different places where we had to go into the forms to correct the results of the interview. We will not use H&R Block next year.
