Still some minor glitches, but I got around them.

I've used H&R's software for decades, tried another once and came back. But this year I thought I saw something odd. I felt an interview question was missing, so I checked the form and sure enough an option I was eligible for wasn't checked. I went through the interview again, still the question wasn't asked, so I checked the box on the form and then the question came up. Then, on the state tax option I wasn't asked if I wanted to consider state sales tax. Again I had to go directly to the form and check the box. Meant another $150 refund. Glad I've done taxes long enough to have noticed the omitted questions.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Switch over from Turbo Tax, the year they decided to start charging for the electronic filing part of their package and I'm very glad I did, will never go back, your package always delivers and is very easy to use, if you get stuck, the online help is there to save the day, and if more help is needed, the online chat is available. Thumbs up on all the working of your program, it's the BEST!!! No cons, by the way!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I LIKE THE H&R BLOCK TAX SOFTWARE AS IT IS USER FRIENDLY AND CARRIES OVER THE INFORMATION FROM YEAR TO YEAR. I WOULD LOVE IT IF THEY ADDED THE CITY TAX FILINGS AS WELL TO THE STATE FILINGS. FOR EXAMPLE DETROIT CITY FILING WITH STATE OF MICHIGAN. THAT IS A FEATURE THAT IS ALREADY AVAILABLE ON TURBO TAX FOR FEW YEARS. TIME TO KEEP UP.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
I often have to go back to support lists I create for entries. Rather than clicking on the list and having it pop up, TaxCut displays a menu of lists and I have to guess which one is the one I want. It would be so much easier, if the list just popped up.
I have used this program for 7 or 8 years now and find it understandable. However, the planning module for 2019 Taxes is worthless. My 2018 tax was $44,000, but after entering many of the 2018 values as my 2019 estimate, the planning module came up with an estimate of &10,000 for 2019. Can't possibly be right.
When the program "completed " the adjustments section it stated I had excess contributions to my HSA. I had to exit and restart the program before it would go through the spouse's health insurance questions. The program should have gone through those questions the first time through. I don't recommend relying on only the software's internal check. Always go back and look at the entries for yourself.
