Very easy to use

I have used H&R software for many years. I can’t remember when I first used it, but it was over 20 years. It’s a very easy program to use and it puts my information in from last year. I don’t think that I will ever stop using H&R software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Almost Perfect

I have used Tax Cut for years. I greatly appreciate all the "import" features. Unfortunately they were error prone this year. I could only import one 1099 (B, Int or Div). The second one caused the program to crash - repeatedly. Apparently the program couldn't detect that some of the 1099's were under my husbands SSN and some were mine, causing a program error while trying to connect to Raymond James & Associates. I figured out a way around this, but it was very time consuming and frustrating.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

I will not use this again next year. I bought the deluxe 2028 federal and state cd.
I had to do my state on the states web site. the H&R version would not download my state software. always defaulted to the previous years software

I tried E-file for the first time. The jury is still out on that one. However I did not receive a Form 1040 V with my PA state form.They require it with my tax payment.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

I did not think the info to click on for each entry was as clear as it has been in the past and am annoyed every year that the state e-file isn't included. I don't need 5 free with the Federal so I copy and mail my state return every year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

Been using this program for years, starting when it was TaxCut and continuing when it became H&R Block.

I bought three copies, one for each of my computers 2 deluxe copies and one for small business and trusts, etc which also included a deluxe program
thus I had three valid product keys. the only work on the computer each is loaded onto a real logistical pain if someone buys three copies of the program, then the three keys should work on any computer

ok for routine but fails unusual & special forms

I have used it for years and am at point of switching. Only reason i have stuck it out this long is that it imports last years info. However, S/W continues to fail miserably with treatment of special but critically needed forms (e.g. amended returns), and fails to import them either. Ask S/W for help on basics, it is fine, but ask for anything special and it fails miserably (e.g. student education charges). Program icons fail to work, radio buttons give you blank screens, and you have to exit and try again to only have some of them work occasionally.... Then, there is the total failure of their live help functions. Took me 4 days of trying and over 9 hours of hold time to get to live help (and it was Feb-not Apr)... then, after paying for software, you have to pay to file state.... fed up to point of quitting

Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund
