While the software seems to work, the 2018 version required multiple updates after the last update date to get to a final state. The help screens are mostly useless, and accurate file imports are problematic. It's easy to get in an bind while building a return, and somewhat difficult to correct either incorrect entries or default entries the software makes for you. User friendly? not so much.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
I've used for years and am very happy with it. Only disappointment is that, although I bought the Fed/State version, I couldn't file state return due to PA rules on insurance policy payout.
A pretty scummy end to an otherwise good experience. A very good application, but to pay your federal balance has a "pay by credit card" option. But it failed to mention there would be a "convenience fee". When I went back to change my payment option, I couldn't, because it was already submitted.
I've used this product and its predecessors for decades and have been very pleased with it. It's not perfect but it's very helpful and supportive. Nowadays I wouldn't do our taxes any other way.
I have used these software programs for four years now, and you keep advertising how the deluxe software is great for stockholders. I have some passive limited partnerships and you say that you're going to fix the problem with the K-1's and refer me elsewhere for help. When are you going to fix the problem. Limited partnerships are investment so fix the problem or stop advertising how great your software is for investors. I notice that you only state this problem in your interview not on the advertisement. Are you going to fix the problem or do I have to sell my investments or go to another tax software?
