Smooth transition & new feature

Have used for a number of years. Was apprehensive about this year’s. No fear - it was slick except it did not import info from previous year. Having the school district IT included with the Ohio IT was very smooth and helpful. Slight glitch - I had to study the printed return to see my carryover from last year was applied. It did not mention it anywhere in the tax calculation process. Very happy with how it went. FYI - it was not displayed nearly as prominently as Turbo Tax.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Comparison with prior year is poorly implemented

year-to-year Interest and Dividened entries are compared by position rather than name. Which is a problem if an unused entry is deleted from the beginning of the list

IRS rejects e-file

IRS rejects efile because the prior year AGI doesn't match. But I went to the IRS website and checked prior year AGI and it DOES match. Can't get this program to efile this year. I've used it for decades and it was always cumbersome but adequate. This year, fail.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

Two state w-2 problem

Nice product, but I live in nj and work in New York, the software counts both nj and NY income and show as total income only on NJ income, then users have to manually back out NY income or will be paying too much taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been a user of H&R Block software for a number of years now. It has always functioned as advertised -- easy to install and update, use, and complete the efiling.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Crashing problems

When choosing to upload my W2 with the EIN and import code it would constantly crash causing me to restart that process and finally having to upload manually.

Problem with handling stock options

The software did a great job until I got to Schedule K-1 for options and limited partnership special conditions. It told me that the values I put in may have to be modified and to see the instructions from the IRS and stock company. I couldn't understand the instructions so I had to go to H&R Block agent to finish the form. I bought the software so I could do it myself and not go to an agent.

Updates were terrible.

I found the updates required extremely difficult to deal with. They would not update and I was unable to proceed with my filing.
