Buggy - Mac Version Crashes Frequently

Seems to be quite a bit buggier than previous years. When you try to fetch information from financial institutions, it crashes, and you lose work going from the last 5-10 minutes. I eventually ended up entering all the information about interest, mutual funds, dividends, etc. by hand. A real pain.
Only issue was caught in the electronic support loop and could not get to a human for help. Keep asking for phone number or code tried both and said no record found. I hope I didn't over pay
I have have been using this program for many years (going back to the original tax cut versions). This is the first time I had to efile 3 times due to the software not including my spouse's correct SS number. I changed and "saved" it on the form after the first federal rejection, but the program reverted back to the wrong number. The third attempt involved multiple file saves to make sure the correct number was in the return permanently. I also had to re-fill in my credit card number three times for the efile state return. I expect to only be charged once.
An admittedly tough job to deal with the machinations of the IRS codes in a way that is relatively easier to understand than what the IRS gives you. I have a few suggestions: on the multi page 1099 input forms, list the name of the payer on the top of each page for easy reference if you need to go back for any reason; try to make the decisions as to whether some obscure Fed reg applies by saying "if you are not a student, skip this" or some other hint to allow you to quickly bypass the esoteric sections.
Otherwise, a decent pgm to help with an ugly job...
I've used this product in previous years but for some reason the 2018 soft wear has some glitches in it. 1.It is not stated in the program, but MD is also one of the states that does not allow itemized deductions to be used unless they are filed with the Federal return. (You cannot use Standard Deduction on the 1040 and then use itemized deductions on the 502 MD return.) 2.The MD Estimate amount cannot be changed on Form PV Estimates. The program enters 1/4 of the tax liability which will generate a penalty. They want 110%, not 100% of the previous year's liability. I had to print them out and change the amount sent. 3.And, why are there only 3 (and not 4) payment vouchers for the estimates? 4.There were so many changes to the Federal return this year that some of your directions were not specific enough...especially on how to send certain forms. *Where is the staple to be placed to attach multiple pages...top right or top left? *Where is the W-2 supposed to be stapled on the 1040? *If it is stapled to the center of the page on the left side it covers the signature. *Can it be placed to the right? or at the bottom where there is no printing?
I've used Block's software for several years now. I stopped using TurboTax due to far too many questions coming up and never getting answers. The entire process was easier than before and trouble free. Any place I had questions I found an answer by clicking a link, NO MORE WONDERING IF I DID IT CORRECTLY!
