Worst tax experience of my life.

Program repeatedly shut down in the MIDDLE of doing my taxes, in which case I had to go back and re-input my information. As if taxes aren’t stressful enough.....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fast and Easy - Even with a Complicated Return

I am amazed how quick and easy it was to file my taxes. I have multiple income streams and I thought I was finally going to have to go to a professional preparer, but this software handled it all without any angst. Well, except the pain of having to pay such a large amount of taxes. Some tax break that was. I paid more!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Made life a lot easier by doing every calculation

I was a little grumpy about how long it took to enter some of my information into the program until I stopped to realize I would have taken as much or more time doing it by hand. The great feature was that all of the calculations I would have done with a calculator and IRS forms and schedules was done for me. I saved time and got my return in a week earlier than usual. Free e-filing was an added bonus.

Easy to follow

This was my first time filing and I found the software very intuitive and easy to follow. Detail was provided to explain each piece of information that needed to be entered, and it made the process go smoothly
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

2018 Version is Defective

Have used for many years. This year's has several flaws and is extremely difficult to use. Could not trace back to source of data in many places. Allowed inputs of very bad data and even created duplicates of income inputs. Took only a few hours to input but several days to check, validate and correct data. Even had to do my own Est Tax calculations because software would only allow even payments, with no override. Had to ask for my money back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple & Effective

This is the 9th straight year that I have used this software to prepare and file my US and NC returns. As a retired tax attorney, I think that this software is easy to use and is effective at producing an accurate return.

I'd used TurboTax for the past 15 years and this software is just as effective plus much lower price.
