I found a serious error in the program for 2017 and 2018 and only caught it this year. NJ requires you to report interest from a K-1 together with any dividends on line 26. In the past the program would ask and then remove the interest from Federal interest total and sum it up in the worksheet with your K-1 dividends. For 2017 and 2018 it removed the interest from line 16a but only reported the K-1 Dividend total..excluding the interest on line 26. I had to manually make the change and it took me hours to figure out what was wrong. I went back to my 2014 and 2015 versions and they all worked correctly. Seems like a glitch which is not being reported properly and therefore under reporting NJ revenue unless you manually change it. I spent 45 minutes on the phone but it was a waste of my time.
The system is great - even with the darn tax changes. I have been doing this now for almost 4 years with HR block and never have been disappointed. Gets a little tricky in the past but the program knows the path...!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I used turbotax for years and 2yrs ago I had forgotten to buy it and walked by HR Block in a store. I bought it and it was even easier to follow and use. So I tried it again and worked great.

Everything went well with this product, except that it asks for bank routing transit information, mulitple times, for both state and federal. I was asked for this number a total of 4 times when one time or at most two times should have been sufficient. In addition, this is information that could have been easily ported over from the past year's return so it was totally unnecessary to ask for it again. Routing transit numbers are not commonly used day to day, so it is not easy to remember. When a program repeatedly asks for it and doesn't try to extract it from a past return, it is extremely annoying.
I've used H&R for something like 15 years now and find it very easy to use -- and the price is very reasonable. Keep it up! One suggestion -- when filing and entering my checking account information -- just have it done once and transferred to the state form. Ok to review it on the state filing but should not have to enter it a 2nd time.
