Same application software as previous years but with a drastic price increase. A 20.00 increase is fraudulent greed in action. They justify this because they added a useless AI feature that none of us ever asked for but it is a way for them to charge you more for essentially nothing. This program is not worth the price tag.

The new requirement for a bank account number for direct deposit should have been highlighted for completion. Now our refund by check will take 30days plus 6 weeks or more .

I have been using the H&R Block software since 2005 and have always found it easy to use and understandable. I find the navigation is sometimes a little finicky and I have issues with importing data from some financial institutions, but this may be an issue with the institutions and not the software. In any case I have always had accurate results and have never been audited!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to import documents

Your program seemed to work well overall. I did encounter one problem with my LA state return.
The program showed a $100 tax credit from 2024 for stae taxes. I was unable to find other records of this, but assumed it was correct.. A few days after filing, I received a message from the state that said my refund had been reduced by $100, seemingly the mystery $100 tax credit shown in the H&R Block program.

I continue to us this product each year because it’s relatively easy to carry over previous years info. The Mac version rarely works flawlessly. Updates NEVER auto load. Always have to go website to download those. New software can’t seem to find previous return like previous versions. When I’m working on my return and save it to come back later, sometimes it wont show my return in progress. Then have to go in files and reload it.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

I had the hardest time trying to remove a form that was being assigned to me base on the questionnaire. I turn 65 last year and it gave me the form for Social Security payments SSA-1099, but I didn't apply for Social Security yet. When I ran the check for errors it would ask me for amount I received. I clicked on the forms section and try removing that form and it wouldn't let me. I'm not even sure how I finally got past that, other than doing the update to the software. Other than that it worked as I expected and has the last 10 years.
