Usable but limited

Very limited handling of K-1 (Partnership) income/expense/reporting.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

Good software- Lousy web site

I bought the Deluxe version and as usual it went well, the IRS has accepted our return. But I need to install the software on another computer to do a family member's return...and it is impossible to find the link to do this. In previous years I had no problem! I really don't want to have to pay twice for a "free" efile....
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

E-File rejections

Every year, and that's a lot of years, I have been able to e-file but not this year. I am guessing that the tax law is partly to blame for this but my tax situation, other than switching from joint to single, is the same as prior years. Now I have mail my returns.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

I found errors in the programming, which causes higher tax liability.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i have been using this software for about 10 years the import of data is key to getting done quickly. Best around in my view.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Got the Deluxe plus state software. All good except form 1099-R information about the recipient, me, did not automatically fill in on the form so I had to manually do it for all the 1099-R forms I had.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

less than stellar software

software gets you through most of the return if your tax situation is not too complicated. There is always something wrong with the software however, e.g. can't efile if have an 8938 form, no continuation pages on 8938 form, can't efile because foreign payor doesn't have tax ID, doesn't generate state estimated tax vouchers, Can't handle partial year residency in state. Every year it's something different. I have not been able to use H&R software to efile ever since efile was an option. However, I used a CPA one year and they were able to efile with same issues no problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
