Easy to use

Have been using H&R Block software for a number of years. Its very easy to use and is updated to simplify its usage every year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

We moved, so we have State taxes to account for in two states. H&R Block Deluxe 2018 made it so easy! Everything you need is right there. They calculated it all, they ask the questions, they put it in the right place. This is the third year we've used H&R Block Deluxe, and the second time we've had income in more than one State. I wouldn't use anything else to do my taxes, especially considering their guarantee!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

Hidden expenses!

When purchasing, the description was deceptive! So there's a hidden expense for the state plan. And another hidden expense for filing. I'll be sure to tell EVERYBODY I know to use TAX SLAYER. And I have to remove Ad Blockers to submit a web form?!?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Need some work

The ease of use seemed to have dropped off from previous years. Though I have used the TaxCut program for many years, the features are not as innovative as I though they would be at this point. Hopefully next year I will not have to try a different brand.
Cons: Hard to import documents

Best software at the best price

I've used this tax software for several years after getting tired of Turbo Tax bloat. I don't know what Turbo Tax is like now, but I continue to use HR Block because it downloads fast and it copies my previous year's return without a lot of fuss and delay. It's simple to use and the price is reasonable.
It brings up last year's data more accurately than I could do it manually and downloads from my other accounts reliably every year.
I don't know if they can simplify the the underpayment penalty form, but that's the only complicated part for me.
If HR Block had a personal finance program, that would be the icing on the cake!
