For the second year in a row, I was VERY disappointed. My download would not install on my new HP laptop (W11), so I had to install it on my old laptop (W10). I found the interviews very repetitive and clumsy. I gave HRB a second chance this year, but I WILL NOT be using it next year.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using H&R software for almost 20 years. The feature that lets you import the info from the previous year saves a lot of time. If you had a something that can be carried over from the last year, is setup to have you review it this year. My taxes last year and this year were more complicated . I am confident H&R Block software got me my maximum refund.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

It's a good program to do tax returns with but it could be better.
1. Could contain better tips on how to avoid additional taxes with suggestions while your doing the work.
2. Price the package better earlier.
3. Explain what the updates are and suggest if they might effect the work already done.
4. Less advertising.
5. How they get the numbers in the tax table.
6. Suggest or explain better possible places or approaches about how to enter income
7. More tips about how to gain income that would save taxes

I was not able to download my 1099's from Merrill Lynch any more, which caused a lot of consternation. After some research and consulting with a tax advisor, I was able to understand how to enter my data. After that I couldn't understand the total for my capital gains, and none of the forms that 'help' sent me to were of any help, so I rechecked all my entries and I just have to accept that your numbers are correct.
