Some Problems

I had problems at the "Charitable Donations" page. It would not "Skip" the interview portion. Then at the "State & Local Income Taxes" page there was no "Next" button at the bottom of the page. (I couldn't finish the tax preparation.) Closing the program then reopening it corrected the problem. In the state program, it wouldn't go to the "Print" page. I had to go to the forms page to print things out. But I finished!
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Has a State e-File bug.

Federal prep and filing was great! Couldn't be easier. It took into account the tax changes and allowed comparison with both joint and individual filings for best refund. However... I e-Filed the Federal electronically and decided to mail state. Later I changed my mind and tried to eFile State to no avail. It kept telling me I needed to eFile Federal first and then took me to Federal eFile again and again. When I selected to do it from the list of tasks (eFile State Separately) the program suddenly quit. Luckily I had saved my work. Seems to be repeatable.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

When using the program, the interviews are to keep you from filling out unnecessary forms. This year, I was filling out information that the program should have known I wasn’t qualified. Example is the moving expense... it’s for military, so when I answered in the interview that I was not military the program shouldn’t allow me to fill out unnecessary information only to end up saying I don’t qualify. Too many loops...I’ve used the program for over 8 years...first time I went into loops.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A must-have for the non-tax savvy filer!

Hands down--this is my favorite tax software. It is super easy...easy to download, set-up and begin filing. I completed the purchase process, set-up process, and preparation for my federal and state taxes in less than 1 hour.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

This and predecessor 'Kiplinger' is the only tax software I have ever used, and had always been satisfied. 2018 software pulled in erroneous 2017 AGI as part of the validation process, which had never happened in 15+ years. IRS immediately rejected the filing and the state placed it on "Hold" pending the Federal return. AGI was corrected and Federal was accepted, but more than two days later, and the state (NC) return is still on hold...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

2018 A Lttle More Difficult To Use

I have been using the H&R Block Tax CD Software since 2013 & I found this year was a little more difficult to navigate. I have prepared Federal & State for myself & my daughter. This year for some reason her tax information did not save into one file where you can view both files & check on status. Each saved in a file document on their own..
Pros: Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

Automatic withdraw

The only problem I found is when you do a automatic withdraw from your bank account you can't print anything to prove at the time. But otherwise I use your software and love it.

Overall the program was easy to use. The only thing I was very unsatisfied with is on the package it said you could file up to 5 e-file federal returns for free and one e-file for state return for free.. Wrong.. my significant other and I BOTH had to pay for our state returns, we got no free state e-file with this software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!
