I felt the handling of rmd excess distributions section at the end of the was very weak, I did not understand what the form was looking for with the irs wording and your help was no help at all except to refer to the irs wording

Great product. Would appreciate being able to import interest, dividend and capital gains information from more institutions. I.E., I was not able to import financials from my Merrill Lynch Accounts or from Tradestation.

I have been using this software for years. 2025 version had some bugs. It filled in buttons that I did not. I had to got back twice through the program to fix things that were automatically filled in. Not acceptable. The guidance was poor concerning my once in a life time filling in information from a K-1 form. Next year I will try TurboTax. A bit frustrated this year.

I have used HR Block tax software for years and it generally works well for basic returns. I’m recent years I have seen limitations on capabilities I would consider standard. I needed to resort to outside information searches for handling of retirement account transfers, and needed to override values that were off due to rounding (for example fractional basis values that the software rounded to only 3 decimal places, when the actual value depended on more than 5 decimal places. I tried using the HR Block Artificial Intelligence feature and quickly realized it is a renaming of the help menu and does not actually leverage AI for research or understanding of my tax return data. My tax returns have actually gotten simpler over recent years. It seems that HR Block has exceeded the race for simplicity, resulting in lost functionality.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
