Software is getting worse

I have been using your software for years and unfortunately it is getting worse. This year for the first time, my return was rejected by the IRS five times because your software didn't catch errors. Some of the errors and frustrations I had with the software include 1. The software couldn't handle the clean vehicle credit correctly. 2. The software isn't smart enough to know if you don't have children, you can't have a children's tax advantage account 3. If I change my mind and don't want to claim a credit, the software isn't smart enough to delete the credit forms before filing the tax forms. 4. The software doesn't know what vehicles are eligible for the clean vehicle credit 5. The software doesn't explain that the clean vehicle credit is a non-refundable credit, or explain what a non-refundable credit is 6. The software doesn't allow you the "uncheck" a miscellaneous credit once you select it. 7. The software isn't smart enough to automatically use the information provided in the federal income tax to complete portions of the state income tax forms. 8. The software is very confusing about how it handles foreign income. 9. The software doesn't automatically provide foreign currency conversions 10. The software doesn't allow e-filing if you claim foreign taxes and doesn't tell you why. 11. The forms provided in the software package are difficult to read and enter information into 12. The software doesn't have the option to display a complete page when reviewing a form 13. When reviewing your tax return and you press on the tab (like income), you don't have the option to go to the next screen, but you are providing with an option to go to the previous screen. That is inconsistent. (I know that you can get to the next page by selecting the "go to" option for the first item in the list, but you should give the customer multiple options to get to the next screen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For some reason this software package will not interface with my HP Laserjet m1212nf MFP that is on my network. All my other software can operate the printer just fine. It was annoying.

The software was easy to navigate, and I appreciated the "reminders and explanations" as I used the software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have used H&R Block software for many years and have always found it to be thorough and intuitive.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I've used it for years. This year was a bit more confusing. Still waiting for my state refund. Supposed to take 2-4 weeks, it's been 7. Checked the "where's my refund" and it just states it's pending review. Never happened before and am not too happy.
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

I received the software late in 2025. I entered data in early Feb. 25. The calculated results were obviously wrong. I waited for an update. Using the already entered data and after an update in late Feb, my refund amount changed. I waited again for another update. In late Mar. 2026, after new updates, using the same already entered data, my refund amount changed again. I filed, knowing that there was another update scheduled. I don't know what that new update's results would have been. I learned that the software was not ready unit after updates were complete, late in the tax season. I have been a H & R Block tax software user for many years. This is the first year that I have had issues with the software that I an aware of.

The process of bring the last years data into the current year does have some failures. Sometimes, when going back to check data entries just completed, the software shows the old data with red exclamations instead of the recently input new data. The software also gives different "help" suggestions for any K-1 data when queried. Other small irritations tell me that the "parsing" of newly sub-routines has not been vigorously completed. A few other irritations may cause me to change next year.
