I wish I had used HR Block Software for return much earlier. I used to use TuboTax, Last year there was a glitch related to State e-filing, and I end up paper filing it. I switched to use HR Block. It was easy to use, more flexible, plus lower cost.

I have been using for several years since TurboTax betrayed their customers. This year I had two problems.
1) Merrill was not a download option.
2) State update (Virginia) caused an error when opening an existing file. Had to back out the update!!

I have used this product for almost 20 years. I love the importing of the previous year info. For a long time my taxes were pretty simple but there were a couple of years where there were tricky issues. Things are now more complicated with rollovers and IRAs. I have faith future programs will keep me straight.

Block doesn't care to fix error that occurs year after year in NY State return. Prevents e-filing and forces return to have to be mailed.
Cons: Hard to prepare
