I have used H&R Block Deluxe for over 20 years and it no longer can keep up with the new tax laws. I am a retired CPA and have no idea whether my 2026 return is correct or not. The app can no longer adequately handle K-1 items and the review recommendations are mostly confusing and not helpful. It is no longer just answer the questions and fill in the blanks. Way too many exceptions. I will not be using it for the future.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Verified Purchase:Yes
The Illinois state return required the full driver's license number, including dashes. This 14 digit number can not be entered because the entry field only allows 12 digits (the length of the drivers license number without any dashes). Because of this difference, my return was rejected and needs to be submitted on paper as there is no way to enter the number as required using the H&R Block software.

Federal return accepted by the irs. State was rejected due to " federal being rejected". Does not make sense. No one to contact and no way to determine if federal was accepted or not.

I have used this software for many years and it is very user friendly and works great. One doesn't really need to know a lot about taxes as long as they enter their personal data by following the steps in the program. It is a very good program and I have never had any problems with filing my income tax returns.
