This is my 3rd Year with H&R and it seemed easier this time. Last I struggled with where to indicated tha the interest and dividends were 99% from US government deft. But is is clear this year.

I had to use A I on my phone to answer some questions and also amended my state tax . I had to down load a Mac and pc version n my state came out a different number and my A I read use the Pc version software it’s the correct one

We have had to submit our taxes to CA state three times and have had to pay the fee three times due to software issue. We will go back to Turbotax next year.

Software errs last 2 years ruins long perfect run

I've been using TaxCut forever. However after a long perfect "no problems" run, last year you failed to have a notice to the IRS in the amendment submittal (after doing ok in initial filing) showing my wife was deceased and I had to submit death cert etc. Then this year there was the "1 is valid.." error reading a saved return ACTUALLY PREVENTING E-FILING --- Not a good trend.
Additionally I have learned Long-Term Care Premiums are deducible in VA (a percentage) if they are NOT claimed in Fed return. HOWEVER, there is NO WAY to show this in the VA return and when I go to Help I end up at a for pay set of "accountants" . BOO -- I'll try tomorrow to get to a HRB human to see if this VALUBLE deduction can be somehow entered on the state return (you print the section but with blanks but don't include ability to enter in interview)
