Only complaint is on state software the property tax refund forms are in-bedded with state income tax form. The county doesn't send out the new tax information until the end of March-so I have to wait to do my state return until then.

a struggle to update but does taxes well

In 2020 I had trouble with the software update process on my apple silicon Mac. it would notify me of an update, then download, update and when starting up the app, notify me that there's an update—an inescapable loop. in 2020, I had access to an Intel Mac where it worked without issue. However, I have had to manually do the updates every year and sometimes with the update it will lose the state program and tell me I have to buy it. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall but it still insists that I need to buy the state. To get around that, I've had to install it on another Mac to get the state program to be available. That same problem has persisted for every year since then. The ease of tax preparation is overshadowed by the persistent technical issues for 6 years!
Pros: Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Paid too much for software to do income taxes but wind up having to enter manually most of the pertinent information and double verify EVERYTHING so as to put the heat on the customer, when they aren't tax professionals. Thats the reason why people have to buy crap like this in the first place.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

the program would not import last years data. I had to re-enter everything not much fun. It would be a great program if it also included a free state filing. Cost for state filling is too high.
