Wouldn't let me file until days later: update

After years of using this software this year it stunk! I couldn't file because they didn't have an update for my state! I had to e-file federal and state separately which is causing a delay in my refund! Not to mention that I had to sit at the computer to basically file taxes twice!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When I finished and was ready to submit the program failed to be able to go on line and stated the program had to be updated this resulted in duplicate charges to my card. I have been waiting to see if Block would correct but as of todate I have not seen a credit to correct my being overcharged. I have used Block for years and am disappointed over this mistake.

Easiest home software I’ve used, tried a few. Answering questions is a smooth process & captures most of your information. Only a few special situations I have were harder to navigate.

I have used H&R Block for several years and have had good success. However, this year, the state tax program for Arkansas was completely inaccurate. While the questions asked were correct, they incorrectly applied my retired military pay as taxable when they are not. What was a tax refund was shown as a tax debt. Had to do my state taxes by hand.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
