I appreciate the easy to read structure of the software. I like the reminder at the end if you owe your state additional tax (that seems new this year). I find some of the help topics not as helpful as needed and I have to google my question to try to find an answer.

Acceptable but could be much better. Built in help is very poor. Getting 5 free e-files and not being about to use these for state is a rip off.

Unique error in Kentucky state software

The Kentucky state program does not correctly account for carryover excess charitable donations. I reported this in 2021 and after reporting it I got an e-mail acknowledging the error and that they would fix it for the next year. Still the same error in 2025. However, I doubt that hardly anyone encounters that problem since most people with carryover donation deductions would be having a CPA do all their taxes and the CPA would handle it correctly. I should note that the federal software does handle that issue correctly. I have developed my own spreadsheet based on IRS Publication 526 to make sure I get the right numbers. That is the only error I have discovered in the Kentucky state software.
