Last time using H&R block software to complete tax

It was filled with errors and had to spend over 5 hours on the phone explaining the error, Finally got a person to create a case number, 3 escalations and finally the update was sent out on March 18th for the state of Michigan.

Software works well but It's not too easy to use

I've been using H&R Block Software for nearly 10 years now and it seems to work well. However, I think the descriptions of specific words or requirements in parts of the tax form could be better utilized. There are things that it will question you on but has no explanation of what it even is or even a reference to find out more info on the topic. I had to use a significant amount of Google and AI to find out just what the questions were even talking about becasue the info was not available in the program. I felt it took too long to accomplish a relatively straight forward tax return becasue of the wording and lack of descriptions.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Doesn’t have explanations for items that really need explaining (like what value a question is referring to). Stepping through the actual tax form would be easier to understand. I also have no idea why this year had a desktop download where the previous 2 years forced me to use the web software. I’ve been using H&R software for 10+ years but I’ll be switching to a different product next year.
