I have been using this software for at least a decade; I always find it easy, straightforward and accurate. I have tried the major competition and some other lesser knowns, but come back to Block. My taxes are simple and pretty straightforward so I could probably use the the other guy with no problem. I am comfortable with the interface and how the everything meshes together. I like the features and won't change.

I have bought this program every year for decades and I have been able to do my taxes easily. This year, due to complexities, I got an error when submitting my taxes electronically, but after an update the issue was resolved and I was able to submit electronically.

There is no middle range between basic and delux, As a senior there should be a program that allows you to fille quickly, especially if there are no complicated deductions. Also, the program said there were no errors, I filed and three times the fed return was rejected. It was a struggle to find just where on the state return the box regarding 'insured' thru the year was located. Finally, it should not cost money to file a state return in a state that allows me to file for free.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Import tool brings in multiple duplicate entries which severely impacted return. If I didn't catch this (and I haven't in other years), I would be out hundreds of dollars. I'm not confident the average person would catch this. The software should prompt people to be aware of this especially if you are working off the laat year's import info. The pool of available Import partners for docs has also narrowed.
