I have used H&R Block for >10 years. So far, the last 4 years, I did online completely, which is easy to download. The process is easy if no issues. I had issue a couple years ago due to upgrading software. It was very painful after several calls with different people for several days.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice but again wastes paper

Software is as smooth as usual. Once again, when printing state return, the mailing instructions can not be deselected. So when you print double sided, the return has the instructions on page 1. Waste of paper and you can't do anything about it unless you print to PDF, delete that page and the print it. Same thing every year
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Too esoteric,recondite, and abstruse for a tax return with many variables. Will not let me e-file state tax if I have to file an amended Federal tax return. Way too many cross-references. If I call up a Form to check a return, I cannot modify the return while the Form is still displaying. No feature for me to 'go back' from an entry without exiting the entire program and restarting it Once I have restarted it, it doesn't automatically go back to the page that was on. Cannot load an existing program in progress into a new computer, nor can I file this year's state tax return, unlike any investment program on the web or any 'cart' in any retail program. Cannot find a place to enter my 'code' after downloading the program on my new computer.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ive been using hrblock tax software for many years. I like ut becase it does the msth part like calculating the tax for different incomes : ie capital gains, ordinary income, and the different definition of "Child". It does help if one understands some of the tax codes and definitions.

The windows version of the 2025 tax software would not install on my Windows 11 laptop. I ended up installing it on my wife's desktop computer that was still running Windows 10. Once installed, I was happy with the way the software worked.
