Lost count of how many years I've ordered and used H&R Block tax software but it's at least 6 or more. it 's pretty intuitive, takes you throught each worksheet with quetiosn and provides help text. i never had to call for help but that is available. i like i can stop any time, and restart where i left off or just go back to a section i have completed if i want to change or review something. certainly far cheaper then the one year i took it to a tax preparer and more private as well, not having someone else getting a picture into my life although i don't have anything terrible or embarrsing, i just prefer the privacy. Note, i have no state income tax so only use it for federal.
In filing my Michigan state return H&R Block Deluxe said I needed to submit schedule MI-1040D. This form is not listed even when I select all forms to be listed.
I just completed my taxes and was puzzled by the recap for my state (ILLINOIS) return. The recap number for my state tax was greater than the payments I had made yet it showed me receiving a refund. The recap number for my state tax was not net of my tax credits which were enough to warrant a refund. In other words the paper work was accurate but the recap was very misleading and caused me to do some double checking and spend extra time that turned out to be unnecessary.
