Last four years I have been using H&R Block. Normally I use the online version which is smooth and very user friendly. Choose to “Pre-Pay” for the Deluxe version. Didn’t mind downloading the software but the software program was difficult and cumbersome to use. Not user friendly and did not allow moving through different steps. Will never again use the Pre-Pay software again. Unfortunately with the high price of the online program, I will likely be looking for a more cost effective and user friendly option for 2026.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Usually use a competitor software and the H&R Block software worked just fine. It’s easy to use and even located last year’s competitors return.
I was a little concerned with sharing my bank account number thru a third party (H&R Block) particularly with all the rights we give away in the software user agreements. So not sure of the status of my federal return. And look at that… I have to agree with their terms and conditions again just to provide a review of the H&R Block Software that they asked for!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I have used H&R block (Taxcut) for the last two decades. t has worked great for me. It has made it easy to file my taxes each year. It saves me time. Ensures don't make simple calculation errors.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I'm 69 years old, I do not have to take RMDs. Your software requires me to slog through the very confusing IRS Form 5329: "53 a Amount distributed to you during 2025 from all qualified plans for which you received a distribution of the full amount of the excess accumulation during the correction window." This is, verbatim, in your cannot-be-avoided-and-you-cannot-decline-to-answer-it software. I can't uncheck this despite the fact that I have FOUR; that is 4, years before this even applies to me. AND, not your fault, but this is the most cryptic, bureaucratic, easy-to-misunderstand statement, with no expanded explanation. After much searching on Google, AI, etc., I finally figured it out, but NO THANKS to your software, or your TOTALLY worthless "AI", or numerous calls to your worthless telephone support.....
