I have been using HnR Block tax software for more than 10 years. Recently I see that it is buggy. When I get into the section to record interest income, dividend income and capital gains from stock sell, I see that as I add entries, some of the previous ones get replaced. Sometime the names I put on the items get replaced with some other names. I also see that when the names across two items is the same the behavior of the list is unpredictable. I do receive multiple 1099s from the same institution for different accounts, so name can be same. Hopefully HnR Block can address this in future years.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

Guys you won't like this but two years in a row I have had to give up using you because you kept stating that there was a problem and, therefore, I could not send the return electronically. Last year I could not even follow your reasoning. This year you insisted I was using the wrong number on the form when in fact the number was the same as that on the company form. So in both cases I had to send the forms in through the postal system. On the good side, Turbo Tax under the tutelage of Intuit was worse. Not sure where to go from here. Happy Spring.
