This product has a ways to go to be user friendly. If you know taxes you can use it. But is is not easy to navigate or use. The best feature is the ease of download of Investments from a financial firm. The competitor is impossible with this.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Generally great except for one problem

It worked great until we got to the filing section. After e-filing the Federal Return it would not move on to letting me file the State return (the "Next" box remained dark). I had to fool around with it to be able to file the State return and cannot remember what I had to do.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have used H&R Block Basic and Deluxe for the past ten years. The interview and instructions are clear. I trust the tax preparation assistance and computations. This year I even telephoned for a clarification after normal business hours and got it promptly. The cost is extremely reasonable even after the addition, this year, of an e-filing fee for the first state return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
