I have used H&R Block software to do my taxes for a number of years. Generally, the software does a great job simplifying what can be a complex task. My one gripe of the last few years is that the software does not prompt adding form 1116 to take advantage of the credit for foreign taxes paid. I had to look specifically for the form and prompt the software to take the credit.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do not use for a deceased person! Waste of money!

The box needs to say the software cannot be used for a deceased person because the personal representative needs to upload the court order letters along with the tax forms. I am unable to e-file. Since a state for deceased was already used, I cannot download a new state since it will cost extra. Therefore, I cannot salvage and e-file my own tax!
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
