So this is my 15th year using HR Block tax software (Taxcut Deluxe) to do my annual taxes. The software is easy to install, update, and use! It has always provided me with quality tax returns and really covers everything I could ever need it for from deductions for education, childcare, etc. I’ve never been audited using this software and I think my returns have been good. I have owed some years based on my income, but I’ve also gotten back quite a bit in refunds rather than pay someone to do your taxes. I highly recommend the cost savings you get from this software instead, and I think it would work for probably 90% of the people out there unless you have very very unique tax situation.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Bad state return software-three years in a row

For the third year in a row, H&R Block software had an error on my state (Nebraska) return. The past two years, it was a simple math error overstating my refund. This year it was not pulling forward all of the estimated state taxes which were paid (entered during the fed tax information). I've had enough. I buy tax software to help me get the correct tax return filed. Each year, have had to dedicate too much time fixing the state return.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve used this same software for several years. I like it because it is user friendly and can download information from previous years and plug it into the current year’s information. Price is very good too if you take advantage of early price discounts.
