The software worked very well for me. As a former TurboTax user for many years, I was super pleased with how seamlessly the HRB software went back into my 2018 TT file and pulled stuff forward, greatly reducing the amount of input I had to do. When my itemized deductions came up only $700 less than the standard deduction, the HRB sorftware gave me a very short but quite useful tutorial about how to time future charitable contributions, possibly uninsured medical or dental expenses, etc., so that i Might possibly exceed the standard deduction in the future. Nice. There were just a couple of spots where I was not sure what the software wanted me to do next, so I had to experiment with my entry. But it was not a deal breaker for the future.
Pros: Easy to prepare

It works well, however, as with any financial program you must be very careful to be very accurate and to have a complete set of forms from your job and your interest and dividends. In addition keep a record of your deductions.I found the best was was to begin a file labeled 2019 in January. I pay some property taxes early in the year so it ready for receipts. Deposit your receipts when you get them.

I was a 30 year tax preparer for HRB. 2019 is the worst I’ve experienced. Missing inputs and terrible diagnostics. A person using this software would have to be tax knowledgeable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It was intuitive. I gave it 4 stars as I had to wait for lot of forms to be updated. However, the overall process was smooth and that is the reason I have been using H&R for a long time. I could go over many scenarios, which helped me take the best option.
