The software does not cover all areas. You must review the worksheets and try to correct misinformation. But the software will not allow you to alter the mistakes it made in the worksheets! You have to know how to fill out the tax forms to find the errors it made!
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HR Block software asks the right questions and is easy to use. I’ve used this software for many years and trust its accuracy. We started using HR Block because our tax preparer missed a few deductions and credits one year. A few years ago a CPA used by our family reviewed our tax return just for my own peace of mind and said, “keep doing what you’re doing”. Great advice!

Cons: Time consuming

Many issues and problems because of deceased spouse. The help button did not help at all, just added to my confusion. Problems were highlighted, but not how to correct them.
Pros: Easy to import documents

Easy to use. I sold a house and bought a new one last year so was concerned I'd not be able to fill my taxes out on my own, but H&R software guided me right through it.

Good Value needs some improvement

Really appreciate the ability to the ability to import W2 and 1099-R forms from issuer or pdf copies. Other 1099 forms would only be imported from issuer. I had to manually input the data instead importing from pdf copies which I had.
It would have been much easier if the accuracy reviews were the same before and after selecting electronic filing.
Instructions for entering the electronic filing code was misleading.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
