We've used this software for at least a decade, and we've always been satisfied. With our 2025 return however, we ran into a snag. We don't know where things went wrong, but here's the story. The IRS accepted our e-filed return. Then a couple weeks later we received a letter from IRS saying that they could not process our refund until we submitted copies of our 1099s. This has never happened before. Was it a problem with the software or a glitch at the IRS? In any case, it was a fair inconvenience and some expense to get the materials to the IRS. It would be nice if the software would at least warn us about this. Better yet if there were a feature that made sure copies of 1099s were submitted when needed.

Have used H&R Block software for years and really like it. The only reason I didn't do five stars is the amended return process. It seems very cumbersome when having to do an amended return with instructions that aren't readily available and extremely clear.

I have been using Block's program for about 20 years with no return rejections or errors that I know of. The carry over of the previous year's data into the current year has been excellent. The download and activation process has been smooth for me.
I wish there were an option for using the program during the new year (2026 now) to create a planning return for 2026 with data entered during the year. This could be a separate "premium" program for added cost. I currently accomplish this with Excel spreadsheets.
