The most important feature for me is the tax form Import feature and this did not work with my Fidelity account. First of all, you don't call out how you handle multi-factor authentication (MFA) in the login process, which you should. Instead, I tried it both with MFA enabled and MFA disabled on the Fidelity side and neither made a positive difference. After completing the login, it doesn't do what the H&R Block application screen tells you it's going to do. Instead, it brings you to a generic page that says that everything is all set and you can return back to the application to succeed. Once I do, it brings me to an error screen that says it can't import and to check the Social Security number. What???
I've been a Fidelity customer for years and I know my SSN is correct with them and I know the information is correct with H&R Block as well. The problem is that your software doesn't give you any guidance as to specifically where H&R Block is looking inside Fidelity to get the SSN, what the difference was between what H&R Block has and what you found on the Fidelity side, or any similar guidance to get them reconciled (e.g. dashes vs. no dashes?).. To make things worse, Tech Support was no help. They basically asked me to check the SSNs and if it doesn't work, type the info in, which is eventually what I had to do. You should have support specialists, perhaps Level 2 or Level 3 folks who have experience with this process rather than being so quick to punt about it. They should have access to a Fidelity test account if necessary and can walk me through the import process over the phone and know how to troubleshoot it if it doesn't work.
