HRB Deluxe handles the most common situations well but leaves it all up to you to determine how to handle uncommon problems. I switched to HRB from TT in past years when In2it tripled their prices and never went back. I've had no troubles with HRB, so I'm pretty happy.
I don't get the "warm fuzzy" I used to get from tax software years ago. Don't get a feel for "the big picture" nor a good forms-based review of my tax situation from this software. I think the worksheets and minute details obscure the view of the user--can't even print just the forms you'd send to the IRS if filing manually (which many filers now never did). Seems to assume I know what is needed about dividends, capital gains, and investments so doesn't help me much. And nothing was explained about the new 1040 for Seniors...
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
