Several glitches that make it very difficult

I have been using HRB tax software for many years. I normally buy it at the end of the calendar year and then add the various tax documents I receive in January and February to the file. Once problem I have EVERY YEAR is when HRB makes updates to the software, both federal and state, generally in the first few months of the year. I have never been successful in downloading the updates which then prohibits me from filing electronically, a feature I like and always pay extra for. I do the download, it supposedly makes the changes, but then throws me back to the screen which says there are updates available - the updates are not being incorporated. This year I literally had to delete the program and then reinstall it in order to get the latest version -- the update method appears to have a glitch. I was lucky in that the federal version is now 100% up to date, but the state program is not and I can't submit the state program electronically so now must do so by mail. This happens EVERY YEAR and I'm getting a bit tired of it. I tried to search your help desk for a solution but was never able to successfully talk to a live person. I'm going to think long and hard next year about whether the extra work is worth the effort or if other tax programs might work better.

The software does not print the name and social security number at the top of each page--other software does. The software does not have an option to type in the exact amount of government interest--it requires a percentage but does not have any guidance on the percentage of what number requiring trial and error,
Cons: Time consuming
