The software works pretty smoothly. There have been issues the past couple of years. This year, the software did an incorrect calculation for the Michigan state tax return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

The interviews are thorough and cover questions I don't even think of, navigation is easy, and I trust that whatever I need to report has been covered. I especially like that up to 5 filing fees are included, which works perfectly for me and my three adult children.

The H&R Block tax software Worked quite well in many areas, including transferring last year‘s information and identifying all the inputs required for the tax form. However, some of the worksheets required for capital gains or impossible to complete using downloaded information from our investment account. For example, Foreign tax credits require the country and the amount for each country in order for the worksheet to be completed and this information is not normally available or multiple countries over involved in the word sheet would not take this kind of input. Thus foreign tax credits could not be submitted and had to be deleted.
