Federal was very easy but state(for SC) was quirky. NC state was also easy. Will continue to use H&R Block.

I've used H&R Block for many years because it is the most straight forward package out there. Easy to use as the program steps you through the entire process interactively asking questions. Excellent!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Very easy to use. Suggest you re-instate ability to manually request software check/update. Also include in help how to find activation code (from the email I found out after calling you).

Easy to use and they verify identity before filing

Easy to use. I use federal and state deluxe version due to stock investments. Easy to file with e-file and they also verified my identity before submitting to the IRS to make sure it was not a fraudulent return. For the latter, I received an email on the first business day after e-filing with H&R to call a number to keep the e-file process going. I checked on the internet that it was a legitimate H&R Block phone number and called it. Within about 1 minute I was connected to an agent who verified my identity and then released my return to the IRS. The IRS responded with acceptance of the return withing a couple hours. Very smooth and I like that no one can fake my tax filing and leave me with a mess thanks to H&R's identity verification.

Overall this is a great program. I have a somewhat complex return for being a middle of the road income earner. I would not be able to do my returns without a tax program and this one does the job. The QBI deduction had me stumped for awhile but I figured it out. The program does not let you take short cuts so that was my problem.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
