I've been using HR Taxcut for over 15 years. Offers best refunds available based on your financial status. Software asks all necessary questions to determine your best refund and lowers audit risk. Software remembers last years info as long as you don't change computers. Then you can copy appropriate tax files to new computer and continue on.
The inability to remove a previous years Schedule C is horrendous. Deleted every worksheet (174) one at a time in order to file electronically. Time consuming. I had this problem last year but writing in about it didn't help. In hindsight I shouldn't have imported last years info, but that would be time consuming. Why take me through the questions to see if I can itemize when I already know the answer. That was time consuming too. This software was once cutting edge and now no better than what I used 20 years ago. Lost all respect and since TurboTax imports data too I believe I'll be giving that a try next year.
I have used this software for many years and have always been pleased with the accuracy and easy of use. Friends who use other tax software call me and ask how some items are handled by the software, just to verify what they are doing is correct. I use the Federal on-line filing. I file the state returns on the state's website for free; however, I use the software to verify my submission. I think that the state filing fee could be lower.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
