PLEASE...make a big deal about entering your NEW(for the current year) IRS IDENTITY Protection Pin. I totally forgot to get new pins and entering them next to the signature box is MANDATORY. I had my return rejected twice for not entering my pins, for both for me and my spouse. Also...for Mutual fund Dividends Make a note to us that U.S. derived dividends MAY be state tax free.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Word of mouth purchase. Happy overall. Itemized deductions and all categorizations would have been less confusing with more explanations would have possibly made it easier and more confident to file taxes on our own vs a cpa.

I have used HR block for at least 10 years. It seems to do normal taxes ok but is not easy to use when you have a form you don't understand. The interview is ambiguous. it has not improved over the years. It should contain a roadmap so you have an idea what order things will be entered. It does 1099-int and 1099-div ok but goes brain dead for 1099-R. Navigation from a go to back to where you were is nearly impossible.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
