Totally disappointed with the 2019 Deluxe + State H&R Block software. I had to make several over-rides and couldn't get software to accept Form 1116. I will have to file an amended return to get the foreign tax credit! The mail State return is being reviewed and significantly delayed.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using this software product for a decade or more. It is easy to use for a mostly uncomplicated return. But there are some instances where it is not possible to find where an entry came from or how something was calculated. There is one place this year that I suspect an error in calculation and tried to get tech support to look at it.They are slow to respond, don't know if I will get an acknowledgement or software update.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good but lacking K-1 ease

Have enjoyed this program the last few years when my return was relatively simple. This year was more complicated due to a K-1 form I received. The software was not able to handle the Box 14 information and the software suggested to consult professional help. Not what I wanted to hear. Once I received the information as to where to enter the Box 14 info, I found that form 1116 would not accept direct input and that one other form (8955?) did not even exist in the software.
Pros: Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easier than filling out the paper forms. 2nd year I've used HRBlock. Will use again.

Used Many Years, but Increasing Confusion

I have used H&R Block tax software for many years. The latest few years have become less intuitive and resulted in double entries of 1099-Misc forms and multiple e-file rejections are checking error free. I will continue to use it for the name and the support offered.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!
