I have used the H&R Block tax program for quite a few years. I appreciate the free e-filing of the federal taxes; however, for the price of the program, I feel that e-filing of the state taxes should be free as well.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

All was fine except could not import 1099B because there was not sufficient space for the file. Was told do it manually, which was not helpful.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

The program did my federal just fine but it was missing some state updates and I had to use my state’s website to file state. Not sure how to avoid this in the future. I ran the updates and it said it was good but when I entered the same numbers on the state free file I got a bigger refund due to some other state specific credits.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Once I have all the required forms and documents, it is a simple matter of transcribing the numbers and hitting the 'next" button. I think mine is always simple with no investments or enough donations to move beyond the standard deductions, I wait for the final update and transmit it and in a short time it is in my bank account.

Mostly positive experiences for the last 7 years. Some of the questions are not always clear and some of the error checks are not very intuitive as to what to fix. The errors should bring up help for each instance.
