Easy to use. Prompts for all income sources and deductions. Easy to edit input. Does all calculations as you go through program. Assesses risk before you submit form. Easy to print your own copy and submit return.

PROGRAM GAVE ME GOOD GUIDANCE, AND I SUCCESSFULLY WAS ABLE TO SUBMIT ON TIME. HOWEVER, THE DIALOGUE CONTINUES TO SHOW GROSSLY INACCURATE STOCK SALES.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall good software, but with issues that you are unable to resolve, and customer support is scarce.

Excellent data transfer functions (input from last year/from investment houses etc.) Excellent ensurance of completeness/checking. Almost look forward to using it each year. Only thing I would like is ability to increase size of display. Did not like how the WIndows 7 transition was handled - should not have processed an order if customer was going to stay with Windows 7.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's not H&R Block's fault that the tax code is so obscure, even worse in NY State than USA. They do pretty well at covering all the aspects of it. Import from financial services firms works pretty well. E-filing both state and USA worked perfectly. My only reservation is that the navigation is linear and sometimes questions are repeated, although one can go directly to forms if one knows exactly what one wants.
Pros: Easy to import documents

I found the program worked out very well in the end ---BUT--- there were two things that irritated me.
The first is a long standing repeating "where did that number come from...." which always catches me in the investment area. I appears as an "unidentified" stock transaction number and since the number await editing and/or cancelling you know it will show up in the review as a item. When the light finally turns on in my brain its simple ...it is a number from my capital gains import from QUICKEN. I there a solution... yeah I think it would be really helpful if you coud get the program to simply title it "Quicken import" or such so new users will know how to handle it.
The second one is in the same area..... Probably for vthe first time I let you import my brokerage account (1099) data and the import went fine. however I found an error in the gain/loss number and then decided I had to manually enter my transactions which did (partially) but got interrupted. Not wanting to lose my work I saved My return and exited. When I resumed and opened the return I was back at tht single combined import number with no individual transactions showing. So l had to start over. Guess what! yep it happened again. So I this time I went to the beginning and started a new return with a new name and did not re-import the 1099 data and entered each transaction individually and had no more trouble except for my first item mentioned above.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!
