I was disappointed I couldn't file for 2 weeks after I completed my return because the vehicle worksheet wasn't finalized. The program said the IRS hadn't finalized the worksheet, but I know that isn't true. I volunteer to do taxes using Tax Slayer and we have been able to file the worksheet since Feb 1st.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The software is so easy to use and intuitive. I wouldn't use any other brand even though commercials abound for TurboTax and others. From simple to complex returns, it can handle it all.

Confusing RMD interview entries descriptions

My first year doing RMD’s. In the interview where it asks the dollar value of my RMD (and also the dollar value of the distribution to satisfy RMD), the wording of which of two entry boxes (one is for filers that use a missed the RMD grace period) to enter my numbers IS VERY CONFUSING. It would so nice if the programmers asked a simple question first - “Did all your distributions for this tax year equal or exceed your RMD amount”. If the answer is YES (most filers) just show the entry windows for RMD NEEDED and RMD DISTRIBUTED.

The federal part worked well, but I purchased the deluxe plus state and the app would not let me download the state. It would only give me the option to purchase it. I ended up using my states website to submit state taxes. I will not purchase the state portion again next year.
Second problem: I have the Mac version and your updater will not update properly. I have to manually download updates and install them. This has been an ongoing problem for the last few years for me.
