H&R block federal was great. The State was a bit tougher as I had to call the Virginia Department of revenue to determine taxes. Federal I would give 4 1/2 stars and State 2 1/2.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare

I have used H&R Block software for for several years with no problems. I found it easier than other popular software. This year there was a confusing question about if I had a SSN which apparently triggered an EIC credit that I cannot claim. The final review found NO ERRORS but my state e-file was rejected by the state. I had no taxable Federal income and the Federal e-file was accepted. I corrected the error and refiled state and it was accepted but looks like my credit card was charged for two state filings. Looks like if the state could almost immediately find the error and reject that H&R Block Deluxe should have flagged it during the final review.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
