Thanks again for the opportunity to vent. I might have been a little rough on the first request for a review because of the PDF995 debacle. That may have been a virus on my machine that was there before I loaded the H&R Block software. The only problem I had after that was that my return was REJECTED three times. Fortunately I had enough medication on hand to calm me down somewhat. I went ahead and filed by mail. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Wow what a nerve wrenching ordeal.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

it is a very old program and th user interface is very 1990's. I wish it hardd a more robust serach feature and had some analytics capabilities.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents

By far the HR Block tax preparation software is the best in the market. I have been using it since 2006 and I have never encountered any issues working with it. It has great support tools, it gets better and better each year and it answers in layman’s terms all my answers. It makes tax preparation so much better than TurboTax and I have never been at risk of auditing by the IRS. I definitely recommend it over other similar tax preparation software.

Consistent year over year. Interview process is easy. Obtaining data from prior year and downloads of W2, 1099, brokerage statements are good.
Negatives:
Always trying to charge for transmitting State Taxes. Just dumb. I paid already it should come with the product.
