I have been using H&R Block Deluxe Software since 2014 and will continue using it because it is easy to use and is thorough with the questions that satisfy me that my tax return is accurate and complete. I did have difficulty downloading the software that I purchase on line this year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have a suggestion. You need to connect the question on the left of a row to the answer box on the right end of the row with dots.......... I have to use a mouse magnifier due to my bad eyes. When entering data from the 1099's you have to be very careful to avoid entering data in the wrong row.
PS: One other thing, when I was about to file my return the program did a data verification check and wanted me to enter the data from line 5d & 5e of the 2018 Schedule-A. It should have known there was no Schedule-A since the standard deduction was used. The program would not continue until I put an amount in the two boxes. The program continued okay and no tax data was changed.

I specifically got it to automatically download all the specifics from my Vanguard investments BUT it wouldn't even allow access to ANY investment firms. AND it's not as intuitive as the Turbotax I've used for at least 20 years!

I've used H&R Block tax software for many years now. I started using it when it was called TaxCut. The fact that I keep using the software year after year is review enough, isn't it? Doing taxes by yourself can be a massive pain, especially in those years when you've had more complicated situations. Making sense of the extra worksheets and directions is doable but so tedious and time-consuming. I'm very happy to let the software do that for me. For me, I've so appreciated the time and hassle that H&R Block tax software has saved me.
On occasion over the years I've had little bits of trouble. Sometimes I've struggled a little with installation. Sometimes an atypical situation in my tax year hasn't been one that the software has given me crystal-clear advice on. On occasion I've had to do a fair amount of digging outside of the software to answer a question. But, those situations have not arisen often. And I'll trade those times any day for all the time and effort that this software has saved me!
The bottom line: I'm a long-time happily satisfied customer.

I am not able to print any forms. I get a message about Missing Fonts (Arial and Times New Roman), but my Mac has those fonts. Printing is disabled due to the H&R Block software thinking that fonts are missing. It says to install the fonts and restart the program, but the fonts are already installed! I did all this work to input my information and now I can't print any of the forms. I tried calling and nobody ever answered. I tried to open the saved file on a different Mac, but it would not open the file because the State software was not installed, and it would not let me install the State software on a different computer. I am not happy.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
