Only problem was completing Form 1116. Should automatically put 1099DIV when foreign tax is withheld on form 1099.

No Capital Gains Excess processing

Overall the program is great – I've been using it for many years. However, I have Foreign-Earned Income and in most years I have a Capital Gains Excess. The program detects this condition, but cannot calculate the tax and leaves it to me to calculate manually. I've learned how to do this, but it requires manually editing the Schedule D form, which then prevents electronic filing. Couldn't you at least add, in this special case, a way to enter the CGE adjustment and permit the electronic filing?
Cons: Time consuming

I have been using the product for over ten years. I have found it very easy to use and all I need to prepare and file my Federal taxes. While I do purchase both the Federal and State products I do not use the State program because for the last three years the H& R product has calculated a significantly higher tax than the state governments on line software did. I have reported this to H & R but it still mis calculated the taxes I owed the State of Connecticut.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
