I have used H&R Block tax software for probably as long as they have been producing it! It is easy to use, provides clear explanations, and saves critical data year to year and re-enters it where needed. It makes the whole tax return preparation process easy. I highly recommend it.

I tried to efile my return and couldn't figure out why the activation code error message came up. I finally found out that the activation sheet was from the previous year. You need to put the year of the return on this sheet.
Second complaint: on form 8606 for nondeductible IRAs, line 2. You need to do a better job explaining the total basis for traditional IRAs. You should have picked up this number from last year's return.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Updates before AND After

I bought the software package in March. Decided to do my taxes May 14. Installed the software, it asked for an update. I update it then rebooted the machine. Ran the software. Got ready to file and the software said nope sorry, need a new update! Need a new update before you can file your taxes. So I reload an update again! Get your together.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
